I had a hard time connecting with the characters in this book. Toward the end, I began to connect with the brother of the heroine. The writing is actually very good. However, the lack of fully developed characters left me wanting more, and never allowed me to get lost in the story.
Scarlet is an aspiring writer with a Harvard degree working as an editor at a publishing agency. She has great friends and loves her best friend Sean. After Sean experiences a heart wrenching breakup she realizes that she is in love with him. But a destructive encounter threatens their friendship, and causes Scarlet to move across the country to live with her brother. Sean has to do some soul searching to decide whether or not he wants a future with Scarlet, as more than just friends.
The story had potential and several promising threads! I would have enjoyed this book much more, had some extra attention been given to the plot and character development.
