Vampires, empaths, and shifters, oh my! Yes ladies, I found another paranormal romance series that somehow escaped my notice over the last few years, and boy am I glad!

Fated is a super steamy read! And there are other published books in the series, so I don't have to wait! You know that patience is not one of my virtues! I really liked the parallel worlds created in this book. It's easy to follow, without too many details or stretches.

We meet Cara Paulsen, a single mother and scientist, who is happy with her quiet world. Cara is an empath, and she has a daughter who can see the future and dream-walk. Having been raised by an alcoholic, religious zealot (who said her gifts made her evil), Cara was beaten as a child. As a result, she has spent her entire life hiding her gifts, and has taught her daughter to do the same.

One night a huge man breaks into Cara's home, and tells her he is there to rescue her daughter and her from evil vampires, called Kurjans. He is Talen Kayrs, the military leader for the good vampires. And as the story unfolds, Talen's interest in Cara deepens beyond that of rescuer. But she wants nothing to do with him... or does she?

This is a super steamy and enjoyable read! I am looking forward to the entire series, and have already started the next book!
