Book Review - The Garnet Dagger by Andrea R. Cooper

The Garnet Dagger (Legends of Oblivion, #1)

The Garnet Dagger is an epic fantasy romance that incorporates historical elements with mythological beings in an enchanting world of love, honor, and lore. Vivid imagery and descriptive passages create an alluring backdrop to this rich, well written, and absorbing tale of elves, dragons, and witches. But don’t be fooled, this is not a children’s fairy tale!

Brock has always had a fascination for humans, and has secretly crossed the barrier to the human realm on more than one occasion. But when a curse befalls him, he finds himself cast from his home, as the elders advise, “Our fate depends on you. You are the Reaper of Death, but also the Bringer of our Hope.”

Leaving his elven home, Brock journeys into the unknown world where he soon learns that things are much more complex, and far more magical, than he ever imagined. Traveling from village to village, he gathers bits and pieces of clues, and eventually joins forces with the tortured waif of a woman, Celeste, who has her own battles to overcome.

The Garnet Dagger incorporates dark elements, mildly descriptive violence, and sexual encounters into a perfectly paced and enthralling story. Beautifully executed and thoroughly spellbinding, this story was more of a journey than a book. And I loved every minute of it! A rare gem, indeed.
