First, let me start by saying that I really liked this duet, although I was irritated by how often Grace was completely clueless! It was
irritating and over the top, as we watched her go from wanting Shane to not wanting
Shane. And after the tenth time I had had enough! That being said, I still
liked the author’s writing style and the story.
Now that Grace Taylor has found her other half, Shane
Maxton, life in this incarnation should be perfect—she has a lovely body now, and Shamsiel is in Shane's rather hot, tattooed body. Let's move on
with the romance and find the HEA (Happily Every After)! But no, the
oh-so-helpful archangel, Gabriel, turns out to be the big bad! He admits to
Grace that he has loved her as long as Shamsiel, cannot live without her, and
actually refuses to live without her. He kidnaps Grace and tortures her, trying
to change her mind … haven’t you ever heard of flowers, buddy? So, Grace is
rescued by Shamsiel and the archangel Michael, and is sent back to live out
her life, as her last life and (seemingly) with Shamsiel.
There are a couple of twists and turns and I had a hard time
putting the book down. I enjoyed it and may read the third book from
Shamsiel's POV—still not sure. I would have rated it a 4, had it not been
for Grace being so annoyingly ambiguous!
